This is a song of intercession based upon Psalm 80.   The Psalmist intercedes for His people–Israel.  There is a Biblical pattern of intercession.  In brief, we are invited to “identify” with the sins of a people, a nation, a family… God returns to us…when we return to Him.  He will revive and restore and cause His face to shine upon those who respond in true repentance.  Today is the day of salvation—by His grace alone, each breath given.  Today is the day of true return…Run to Him, not from Him, and you will be saved.

MUSIC MINISTRY, Purpose & Style

This is a subject far more vast, complex and eternally significant than will be summarized here.  That said, I believe, music was conceived by God, created by God and given by God for multiple and awesome purposes.   It is one of the unique ways He has given for us to approach Him, focus upon Him, engage with Him, glorify Him, be refreshed and even healed by Him.  It is a means we can engage in in order to be reminded of His goodness and faithfulness shown toward us, a means in which we are invited and encouraged–even commanded to call upon Him to fight for us against His enemies and ours and all the while one of the means available to us in which we can potentially be increasingly awed by Him in all His perfect and astoundingly beautiful facets that comprise Who He is, has always been and forever shall be.

 I hope to soon list here, many if not all the scriptures which refer to songs, singing, praise and musical worship.   For now, it is apparent that ‘singing’ and ‘making music’ is important to God and has God-ordained benefits for us. To list just one example: We see that, as related within the context of  2 Chronicles 20: 20-23 “When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against…” (specific enemies listed in the text).   That is, singing and praising is even fundamentally a part of our spiritual warfare and apparently instrumental in traversing the many formidable challenges any one of us faces toward “overcoming and finishing well the race set before us.”

The music one would expect via Spring of Gihon would be that which might be described as “One New Man”–not confined or limited to a particular “style” or “genre” but rather incorporating an integration of sounds, musicianship and singing, having  purpose toward connecting intimately with the living  God, and proclaiming corporately and personally the truth about Him and His Kingdom.

Expressions can be a  mix of:  Messianic,  praise,, contemporary worship, soaking, Song of Solomon (bridegroom/bride) theme, warfare songs, songs of prophetic intercession and general invitation to return to the Lord where refreshing, renewal, restoration and healing occur.  

Currently, all recorded music (but for a few songs) are original.  However,  live ministry gatherings typically are a mix of both.
